The Tanglewood Fox

"Spring was announcing its arrival in the Berkshires. Flowers were popping open. Grass was growing tall. Soon, the Boston Symphony Orchestra would return to Tanglewood and Lee was excited."

I haven't posted in a while. Life is busy and full. I've been working on a project for quite some time, and I'm getting close. Oh, so close. I've written a children's picture book, The Tanglewood Fox. Its genesis was several years ago when on the backside of my chemo treatments, several friends and I ventured to the Berkshires for a yoga retreat. Well, we really went for a crash course in mindful visualization, but that didn't work out. None of us had the mind (or the inclination) for anything remotely involving meditation. We were looking for an adventure; we were looking for a good time; w`e were looking for what the Berkshires could offer up, and we weren't disappointed.
On several occasions during our stay we crossed paths with a friendly fox. He accompanied us down the path when we strolled over to Tanglewood in the evenings to hear the Boston Symphony perform. He watched with curiosity as we practiced our sun-salutations on the lawn in the early morning, and seemed to just enjoy hanging out and being included. He became our talisman.
I've been writing the story. Cari (my sister-in-law) has been painting the water color illustrations. It's finished and wonder of all wonders, it's being reviewed by an agent. We'll see what happens next and where we go from here. I'll keep you posted!
